badges - knowledge transfer

Over the last few months we had calls on how we can make Badges better and active.

The documentation can be found here[1].

Things that needs work going forward. These are my thoughts

The UI revamp, we do have it has one of the user story and we need to focus on it as the current version is slow, hard to maintain and not user friendly.

Badges Paths: One the most awaited features of badges was the Paths, whose backend is ready and deployed. The idea was to gamify the complete things that would help build the contributor base[2]. We never got the UI made for this and this still lies as a hidden feature.
- The admin page in badges contains the Series, Milestones etc which was built as a part of the Paths feature.

Deployment to Openshift: Another thing that we have thought of is the deployment of badges into openshift and then proceed working on other features

Fedora-Messaging Migration: Right now the badges project heavily relies on fedmsg, which is soon to be deprecated in favor of fedora-messaging. Badges (the project fedbadges) listens to fedmsg and processes through the rules to award the badges. This is one of the things that need to be done on priority.
